INTRO TO MUSICAL THEATRE AUDITIONS

A four-week program designed to help young performers understand the audition process from beginning to end. Through vocal coaching, guided practice, stage time, and supportive feedback, students will develop practical skills they can use in future auditions.

This Program is offered at both Germantown and Collierville Music Box locations.

Length: Month of October only: four 45-minute weekly lessons

Structure: Each module will focus on a distinct topic:

  • What to expect.

  • How to choose and rehearse your material.

  • Singing and acting in character.

  • Mock auditions.

Locations and Class Times:

  • Ages 6–10: Saturdays, 10:45–11:30 AM or 11:30 AM–12:15 PM at our Germantown location

  • Ages 11–13: Mondays, 6:45–7:15 PM at our Collierville location

  • Ages 14+: Thursdays, 6:45–7:15 PM at our Collierville location

Course Dates:

  • Mondays: October 5, 12, 19 and 26

  • Thursdays: October 8, 15, 22 and 29

  • Saturdays: October 3, 10, 17 and 24

By The End Of This Course:

Students and parents will:

  • Understand the musical theatre audition process, from preparing for an audition to what happens in the audition room and what comes next.

  • Become familiar with different types of auditions and what may be expected in each setting.

  • Understand how to choose, prepare, and rehearse audition material effectively.

  • Learn how singing, acting, character, and stage presence work together in a successful audition.

  • Gain practical experience through a mock audition in a supportive environment.

  • Identify next steps and development opportunities based on the student’s interests, goals, and areas for continued growth.

Our goal is for students to leave feeling more prepared and confident, while parents leave with a clearer understanding of how to support their student’s continued development in musical theatre.

We can’t guarantee who gets the role but we can help students walk into their next audition better prepared for the opportunity.

Every class combines instruction with practical experience so students can apply what they learn.

Students will take part in:

  • Vocal coaching

  • Stage-presence exercises

Students will also receive carefully curated and useful reference materials and resources related to local theatre auditions, to support their preparation outside the classroom.

Who This Course Is Designed For

Our Theatre Audition Preparation Course is designed for young performers who want to build confidence, strengthen their audition skills, and prepare for theatre and musical theatre opportunities.

Whether your child is new to auditions or already has performance experience, this course provides practical guidance to help them showcase their talent and express their individuality.

Through guided instruction and practice, students will develop the skills and confidence to walk into the audition room feeling prepared and ready to perform.

  • A strong voice is only part of a successful musical-theatre audition. Students learn how to communicate character, make acting choices, and tell a story through a song.
