Your Music. Your People. Your Time to Shine.
Play Together. Make Connections. Take the Stage.
Who says the kids should have all the fun?
At Music Box, music isn't just for kids. Whether you're learning piano, guitar, bass, or drums, developing your singing voice, or rediscovering an instrument you once loved, we believe every adult deserves the opportunity to make music with others.
Our Music Box Adult Jammers program brings together adult music students (18+) and parents of Music Box students for a guided, collaborative band experience.
Led by a Music Box Band Director, these monthly jam sessions give musicians the opportunity to play favorite songs, develop their skills, connect with other adults, and even perform live at local events.
No auditions. No pressure to be perfect. Just the excitement of making real music together.

Not Just a Jam Session. A Real Band Experience.
From Your First Chord to Playing with a Band
Taking adult music lessons is rewarding, but there's something special about playing music with other people.
Our Adult Jam Sessions bridge the gap between private music lessons and real-world musical experiences.Whether you're taking adult guitar lessons, learning piano, studying bass, playing drums, or developing your voice, you'll have the opportunity to apply your skills in a supportive group setting.
Unlike an open jam where musicians simply show up and play, Music Box Adult Jam Sessions are organized, guided, and collaborative.
Participants help choose the music, receive their arrangements in advance, and prepare their parts before coming together to play.
It's the fun of being in a band, without the commitment of weekly band rehearsals.
How Our Adult Jam Sessions Work
SEASON 01 · JANUARY – APRIL
1. Sign Up & Choose Your Instrument
Register for the upcoming monthly session and select your instrument or vocal role. We welcome adult guitarists, bassists, drummers, pianists, keyboard players, and singers who are ready to make music together.
2. Vote for Your Favorite Songs
Your band. Your music.
Before each session, participants suggest songs and vote on what they'd like to play.
The songs receiving the most votes become the group's repertoire for that month.
From classic rock and pop to blues and other favorite styles, every session brings something new to explore.
3. Get Your Music & Prepare
Once the songs are selected, participants receive sheet music and supporting materials to practice at home.
Want to sing lead, take a guitar solo, or play a featured part? Members can volunteer for solos and other musical roles.
Everyone arrives familiar with the songs and ready to contribute.
4. Show Up & Jam Live!
On the first Saturday of the month, our musicians come together under the guidance of a Music Box Band Director.
We typically play several songs, focusing on ensemble playing, timing, listening, improvisation, and musical communication.
It's your opportunity to experience what you've been practicing, together, as a band.

Adult Music Lessons That Go Beyond the Classroom
Learn Music as a Language. Then Use It.
Looking for adult music lessons in Germantown, Collierville, or the Memphis area?
Music Box offers piano, guitar, bass, drum, and voice lessons for adults who want more than simply learning notes and exercises.
Our teaching philosophy is built around a simple idea:
Music is a language, and the best way to learn a language is to use it.
Through our music education approach, students develop five essential musical skills:
Listen: Understand and respond to the music around you.
Read: Build confidence reading musical notation, rhythm, and chord charts.
Write: Explore composition, songwriting, and musical creativity.
Improvise: Learn to express your own musical ideas.
Perform: Apply your skills through authentic musical experiences.
Our Adult Jam Sessions bring these skills together in a practical, exciting way.
Instead of only practicing at home, you'll have opportunities to communicate through music, collaborate with others, and develop into a more confident, independent musician.
